Another Rascal Flatts Band Member Selling Tennessee Home
UPDATE 5/28/13: The sale of Jay DeMarcus’ Nashville home closed on April 16, 2013 for $1.5 million.
But unlike Rooney’s self-proclaimed “very un-Nashville” home with a contemporary look and feel, DeMarcus’ house speaks of another era. With four white columns framing the entryway, the estate at 5910 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37215 gives an inspirational nod to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello plantation, which the third U.S. president started constructing when he was only 26 years old.
The neoclassical elements of Jefferson’s Charlottesville, VA home are echoed in DeMarcus’ renovated brick residence. From dark beams in the formal living room to an elegant staircase, the home mixes colonial style with modern amenities such as a fully renovated kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.
Last July, the country musician and wife Allison, a former Miss Tennessee, welcomed the newest addition to their family, son Dylan, into the spacious 5-bedroom, 8,554-square-foot estate.
While the band was on tour promoting their latest album, DeMarcus’ for-sale listing took a $151,000 price cut in late January.
