With Baby on the Way, Vince Vaughn Buys La Cañada Flintridge Home
He’s making way for baby No. 2, and in the real estate world that means it’s time for a bigger house. Vince Vaughn just bought a 5-bedroom, 6-bath home in La Cañada Flintridge, CA for $3.925 million.
The actor’s former L.A. home, which he sold in August 2005, had 4 bedrooms and 3 baths — apparently enough for a “Couple’s Retreat” but not a growing family. Now Vaughn and wife Kyla Weber can look forward to raising their kids in a colonial-style estate located in a quiet, affluent city north of Los Angeles.
While not in a popular destination among the celebrity set, Vaughn’s home passes the A-list test. Built in 2000, the house has a large gourmet kitchen, stately library, swimming pool and sport court in the backyard. The home sits on three-quarters of an acre — plenty of space for 3-year-old Locklyn and her soon-to-be little sister or brother to play outside.
Vaughn told ABC News that being a father has brought great purpose to his life. The Illinois native grew up in with two older sisters, playing sports in high school, but ultimately gravitating toward musical theater. He currently owns a townhouse in Chicago that has bounced on and off the market in recent years, most recently listed for rent in 2011.
Widely recognized for his comedic roles in “Wedding Crashers” and “Old School,” the actor’s personal and professional lives have seemed parallel at times. After dating Jennifer Aniston, his co-star in “The Break Up,” the couple ended their relationship. Vaughn married Kyla in January 2012 after filming “Couple’s Retreat,” and Locklyn was born 12 months later.
This summer, Vaughn is starring alongside Owen Wilson in “The Internship,” which hits theaters in June.
