Carlos Santana Moving Down the Street in Las Vegas
Carlos Santana may have become famous in the ’60s and ’70s, but the 10-time Grammy Award-winning guitarist favors homes built in the past decade. He just bought a $6 million modern home down the street from his existing Summerlin South estate, which he has been trying to sell for the past three years.
Santana bought his 4-bedroom, high-tech home in 2010 for $3.5 million and listed it two months later. Located at 23 Skybird Ct, Las Vegas, NV 89135 the place has been on and off the market since, with price tags nearing $5 million. Now it’s listed for $3.499 million, with Santana determined to move.
The 2009-built house is described by listing agent Kenneth Lowman as having the “latest and finest in design and technology” with a Crestron system for automating everything from the shades to the temperature.
But Santana’s new home is equally bedazzled with modern appliances and decor. Plus, the 2007 construction offers an additional bedroom and 7th bath, game room and movie theater.
Real estate agent Gavin Ernstone of real estate firm Simply Vegas told omg! that Santana paid the highest dollar value per square foot in Las Vegas in the past four years, making this the fifth highest home purchase ever in the city. This isn’t surprising with the median Las Vegas home value currently at $141,100.
Santana paid top dollar to be right on the fairway of Bear’s Best Golf Club. He will be able to play golf in his backyard or use the shared pool and spa, tennis and basketball courts, and gym available to residents of the prestigious gated community.
