Mark Hoppus Renting Out Beverly Hills Home While Living in London
Hopping between Heathrow and LAX is just a day in the life of Blink-182 bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus. For now, he and wife Skye have decided to call London home, while still co-owning a music studio in Los Angeles.
In the meantime, the couple have listed their 4-bedroom home in Beverly Hills for $15,000 a month.
“Rarely can you find such a pristine and stylishly furnished rental,” real estate agent Juliette Hohnen said in the listing description. “The home is perfect for a visiting celebrity as it includes a private drive, pool and security with several cameras.”
Hoppus purchased the home in 2004 for $3.65 million, according to property records. The interior is filled with white, modern furnishings and walls of glass in nearly every room.
However, according to HGTV’s “Rock Gardens” segment, Hoppus’ favorite part of the property isn’t indoors.
“The elements of the earth combine to make a glorious atmosphere [outside],” he said in the HGTV interview. “I went down to the nursery and got daylilies and agapanthus, and I’m super proud of myself for planting all of these.”
Before buying the 3,390-square-foot home on a private golf course, Hoppus and his wife bought a tract house and landscaped the property themselves. They brought a lot of the plants with them to Beverly Hills, including a Phoenix reclinata, red banana plants and giant birds of paradise, creating a private tropical oasis. Hoppus also describes the yard as very Zen with a water feature running from the front courtyard under an outdoor fireplace and re-emerging in the backyard pool.
Making his love of the property known, Hoppus may decide to move back in after living abroad for a while. Teles Properties, Inc. holds the rental listing.
