Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Former Mansion Listed for $10.9M
Sean “Diddy” Combs once owned this Beverly Hills mansion during his rise to fame — when he still went by Puff Daddy and was dating Jennifer Lopez. After receiving a Hollywood-style face-lift, the custom home is now listed for $10.9 million.
The award-winning hip-hop mogul sold the home at 12055 Summit Cir, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 in 2001 for $2.313 million. At that time, a lot was going on in Combs’ life.
In 1998, he started his Sean John fashion line and won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. In 1999, Combs was involved in a highly publicized court case surrounding gunfire at a New York nightclub. Shortly after, both his charges and his relationship with J. Lo were dropped.
The 10,000-square-foot gated home sits on a 0.69-acre lot with 24-hour surveillance cameras and TV monitors, a security feature Combs would surely appreciate (in 2012, his East Hamptons home was broken into by a crazed fan who drank Combs’ liquor, smoked his cigars and used his toothbrush).
Built in 1998, the 7-bedroom, 8-bathroom Mediterranean-style home was beautiful to begin with but has been given some swanky updates. Tech-savvy improvements include custom lighting, pool and spa special effects and a Crestron home automation system.
The manse is the definition of an entertainer’s home. Besides housing a pool/spa, the expansive patio area offers plentiful seating, fire pits and fountains.
The state-of-the-art media room boasts a 10-foot high-definition screen. In addition, the spacious family room has an adjoining sports bar, and the kitchen is equipped with Viking appliances.
Since he sold the home, Combs’ success has only multiplied. He’s won more awards, appeared in films, produced MTV’s “Making the Band,” started a movie production company and opened two restaurants. In 2013, Forbes estimated Combs’ net worth at $580 million, naming him the wealthiest person in hip-hop.
Combs has not left the real estate game either: His New York condo received a price cut in May and remains on the market for just under $8 million.
