260,000+ Downloads of Zillow iPhone App
By: Rebekah Bastian, Senior Program Manager | May 12, 2009
What an exciting launch this has been for the Zillow iPhone App. Just two weeks ago, we released our free app to the iTunes App Store, and the reception has been amazing. Between all of the reviews and mentions we’ve received, we’ve climbed the rankings in the App Store very quickly. We are now:
- #1 Real Estate app
- #1 free app in the Lifestyle category
- #12 Top Free App
And here is a milestone worth sharing: as of last night, the Zillow iPhone App has been downloaded more than 260,000 times! I hope you’re one of those downloads (yes, I’m biased since I worked on the app project… but it’s really very cool). If you haven’t downloaded it yet, give it a try! It’s free!

Please, fix the GPS. It continually shows a close, but very incorrect position.

Hi Doug,
We rely on the GPS coordinates from the iPhone, so we don’t have much control over its accuracy. The iPhone’s GPS accuracy is subject to the signal you are receiving, which can sometimes be weaker in tall buildings, hilly neighborhoods, etc.
Thanks for trying out our app!
Rebekah

Thank you for your response. However, if the iPhone Maps can find me with the existing GPS and the environmental conditions, then so should the Zillow application.
It appears as Zillow application uses less GPS replies than other locations. Zillow consistently commits to a location faster than other GPS applications. I would rather have accuracy before speed.

I love your app - but one huge miss: the inability to send a home or a location to another person via email. This would be great for you guys, because users would be driving traffic to your site. I’ve been using your app - and anytime I want to tell someone about a house, I end up sending them a google map. Such a lost opportunity for you.
