30-Year Fixed Mortgage Rate Rises for First Time in Three Weeks, But Remains Only Slightly Above All-Time Low

Mortgage rates for 30-year fixed mortgages rose this week, with the current rate borrowers were quoted on Zillow Mortgage Marketplace at 3.94 percent, up from 3.91 percent at this same time last week. Last week marked the lowest recorded rate since Zillow Mortgage Marketplace launched in April 2008.

The 30-year fixed mortgage rate rose to 4 percent last Friday, and then hovered between 3.99 percent and 3.97 percent for the rest of the weekend. The rate dropped to 3.91 percent before rising to the current rate early this morning.

Additionally, the 15-year fixed mortgage rate this morning was 3.13 percent and for 5/1 ARMs, the rate was 2.67 percent.
