93-Year-Old Zsa Zsa Gabor Selling Bel Air Mansion
Ninety-three-year old actress, Zsa Zsa Gabor, has a career that spans 60 years. She is often remembered for her witty comments, exuberant lifestyle, and nine marriages. The past few years, however, have been rough for Gabor. She was in a car accident in 2002, had a stroke in 2005, and hip surgery in 2010. News broke yesterday that Zsa Zsa was rushed to the hospital due to internal bleeding — a result of complications from surgery she had last month to amputate her right leg. To top it all off, her current husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, was hospitalized just yesterday after collapsing in an elevator at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
As a result of the towering medical bills facing Zsa Zsa and her husband, von Anhalt decided to put their infamous Bel Air mansion on the market for $28 million, as reported by Los Angeles Times. There are rumored to be several interested buyers in the 26-room home (see photos here). A report from Bitten & Bound, however, reports the sale of the estate is up for debate. Gabor’s daughter, Francesca Hilton, believes her stepfather has no right to sell the home.
Given the legendary history of Zsa Zsa’s home, one can understand the budding controversy. Gabor purchased her home in 1974 from Elvis Presley. If this didn’t offer up enough bragging rights, her many dinner parties have been host to endless political and Hollywood elites, such as Ronald Reagan, Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor, and both former Bush presidents — George H.W. and George W. Public records show the home was built in 1955 and has 6,363 sq ft, 4 bedrooms, and 5 bathrooms.
