A little slice of Hollywood in Zillow’s backyard

It’s no secret… the marketing team here at Zillow is on the verge of obsession with celebrity gossip - just look at the marketing team Halloween photo from last year when we went as celebrity train wrecks (bonus points if you can identify us all)! The posts on this blog coming from members of the marketing team often focus on an entertainment angle, and on a few occasions we may have stretched to find a real estate angle - and this is definitely one of those cases!
Earlier this week, email guru Andie Reed, PR intern Holly Honnen and I walked from our Downtown Seattle offices (see the link? It’s real estate-related!) to Pike Place Market to watch the filming of the upcoming movie Traveling, starring Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart. We watched about eight takes of Eckhart crossing the street and almost getting hit by a car (when the movie comes out, you’ll know which scene I’m talking about). While we were a little disappointed we didn’t catch a glimpse of the famous Friends star, it was still a pretty neat experience. What was really funny was how they had to keep spraying down the sidewalks to make it look like it was raining out. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t always rain here in Seattle! Just look at all these sunny day pictures on the Seattle City page on Zillow. While you’re there you can also check out the housing affordability index (see, I knew I could tie this back to real estate somehow!)
This very cool experience further reinforced my belief that I really am a city girl at heart. While a sprawling estate in the country has the type of wide open space you’ll never find in the city, it’s pretty great to be able to step outside and see a movie being filmed - something you probably don’t find often in the ‘burbs!
- Stumble it!

It is pretty cool to be able to walk out of your office an onto a movie set. As far as the wet streets, I’ve heard that they usually wet the streets in movies. Something about them looking better that way.

yes, several movies have been fijmed here in Savannah, Forrest Gump and Bagger Vance being two of the most popular) and it IS neat to watch. I grew up in the city of Atlanta, so I understand having the city in your blood.
Thanks!
