Agents- Boost your page views

You know deep down inside that people are checking out your listings every day. The question is- how many? A few weeks ago we launched a new feature to the site that allows you to see exactly how many people have visited a home. If you haven’t check it out yet, all you have to do is scroll to the bottom of that home’s home details page and you will see the page counter. This is a particularly cool feature if you’re a real estate agent. Instead of wondering just how effective Zillow is as a marketing tool for you, you now know the answer.
Logic deems that the more people that see your listings, the faster you’re likely to close a sale. One of the easiest ways to do this is to make sure that you have uploaded your listings to Zillow; it’s FREE, and you get your photo and contact information prominently displayed on the listing. Any and all contacts you receive from customers– via phone, email, or website visit– are free (remember, we make our money from selling ads, not from lead generation). And don’t forget to add in your open house dates!
Here’s the kicker- as we have noted previously, homes that are posted for sale on Zillow receive 200 times the page views of homes that aren’t for sale. That’s a pretty nice return on investment (ROI) for the very short time it takes to load your listing. Once your listing is live, the next best things you can do from an ROI perspective are to add photos and add plenty of descriptive content to your home’s home details page. You can add as many photos as you’d like and, and in addition to a home description, you can also add a note from the homeowner on what they love about their home.
You may also want to make sure you create a revised estimate for the home. We may not be aware of a remodel or other updates the owners made to the house, such as granite counter tops or a hot tub out back. There are also times that the public data needs to be updated, if perhaps the square footage numbers are off. By taking just a few minutes to create your own estimate, you can update all of this information and arrive at an estimate that may be closer to your asking price. By sharing this information with all Zillow visitors on the home details page, everyone can see how you came to the asking price for the home. This can be a huge help when it comes to discussions about any variance in the asking price and the Zestimate with potential buyers.
By checking your page counters daily you can see how each of these activities helps you increase your page views and, hopefully, the number of contacts you get from potential clients. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! I did not know just how effective marketing via Zillow could be. I’ll keep that in mind for the future - when we’re ready to sell!
