Anne Hathaway is selling her Brooklyn apartment.
Actually, a clarification: Anne Hathaway is selling her Brooklyn closet.
The New York Post reports the Oscar-winning actress never moved into the Main Street apartment, but instead used the ninth-floor place as a storage spot for clothes while she and her husband lived in another unit in the building.
As far as apartments turned giant closets go, this one is pretty spectacular, with 2,592 square feet of living space and 11-foot beamed ceilings. Sixteen oversized windows capture views of the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, all the way to the Empire State Building.
The home is described as “perfect for entertaining” (although Hathaway apparently didn’t think so), with top-of-the-line appliances in the kitchen and an open floor plan. The apartment includes 3 en-suite bedrooms, an additional powder room, separate office and ironically “tons of closets.”
Hathaway is reportedly on the hunt for another place to live in Brooklyn.
Wondering what the mortgage payment would be on Hathaway’s home? Using Zillow’s mortgage calculator, a monthly payment would be $18,436, assuming a 20 percent down payment on a 30-year mortgage.
The listing is held by Matthew W. Slosar of Warburg Realty.
