If at first you don’t succeed, list it again. That appears to be the game plan for actor Beau Bridges, who’s attempting again to sell his home, which is listed on the Hidden Hills real estate market for $2.85 million.
Bridges and his wife, Wendy, first listed the 1.15-acre property at 5525 Jed Smith Rd. in the spring of 2010, flooding cyberspace with a slew of pictures of the very comfortable and, perhaps, dated, spread. The home is family-friendly, and sits on a very nice, flat lot with a cool swimming pool and surrounding garden. However, the original list price of $3.25M did not attract any buyers, so the house was taken off the public market.
Now it’s back, much like the ubiquitous Bridges brothers: Beau, the elder son of Lloyd Bridges, can be seen in the new George Clooney movie, “The Descendants” as well as a new TV show, “Franklin & Bash” while Jeff Bridges, the Oscar winner, is now making good on his lifelong ambition to play music.
With a price drop down to $2.85M, the Marshall Lewis-designed home boasts 6 bedrooms, 6 baths, plus an office. The home is comfy, with a billiard room, family room, wet bar and French windows throughout that allow plenty of views onto the serene landscaping, including fruit trees and greenhouse. The interior could use a little updating, except for the kitchen, which has been remodeled with granite counters, Viking stainless appliances, Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer and sunny breakfast nook with garden views. Dual stairways lead to the second level offering 3 en-suite bedrooms, a romantic master suite with warming fireplace, private dressing room, multiple closets and lovely bath, plus a private office with fireplace and wine closet.
