Leave it to Curbed to find the wackiest stories out of New York, including this one: the townhome at 58 Joralemon St, Brooklyn, NY is actually a subway ventilator. (Note: We’re linking to the address of 60 Joralemon since 58 does not technically exist as a home, even though it looks like one). In the photo above, the fake townhouse has blackened windows and several white barriers within the fence.

Brooklyn Heights Blog (by way of Property Shark) says the MTA is listed as the owner of the incognito subway space. In comments on the BHB, the property is actually an “…emergency exit from the tunnel that doubles as a fan plant.”

Which just goes to show you: Make sure you know who your neighbors are.
