He may have spent a “Lazy Sunday” rapping about cupcakes with Andy Sandberg on “SNL,” but Chris Parnell’s new pad in L.A’s Silver Lake neighborhood is no joke. The actor recently dropped $1.7 million on the renovated 3-bedroom.

Built in 1927, the Spanish Revival house has been updated with minimalist modern furnishings, a sleek glass shower and stainless-steal appliances. The focal point of the home is a new central atrium with a large oculus surrounded by an arcade of book shelves.

According to property records, the residence hit the market in February for $1.695 million. Parnell snatched it up a month and half later.

While this isn’t Parnell’s first Silver Lake property, it’s definitely an upgrade. The “30 Rock” star purchased a nearby 1,360-square-foot condo for $620,000 in November 2007. Now he can enjoy a third bedroom and lush patio with hilltop views of Los Angeles homes below.

Time will tell whether Parnell will ditch his condo for good. In the meantime, a monthly payment on his new home is about $5,976, assuming he put 20-percent down on a 30-year-fixed mortgage.

A Memphis, TN native, Parnell but moved to L.A. to pursue an acting career. He is keeping busy as the voice of Cyril Figgis on FX’s “Archer” and as Fred Shay on ABC’s “Suburgatory.”
