John Rich, of the country band Big & Rich, made it big when he urged fans to “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy.” Now he’s got another catch phrase: “Who wants to be my neighbor?

The country singer, song-writer and winner of Celebrity Apprentice is selling his first home in Nashville and is asking a shockingly, un-celebrity-like price of $579,975. He bought the property in 2005 and recently finished building his dream home — which happens to be in the same neighborhood.

Rather than listing the home on the Nashville real estate market as an undisclosed address, as many celebrities are apt to do, Rich is capitalizing on the fact that whoever buys the home will be in fact his neighbor.

“Hello potential buyers! Would you like to be my neighbor?” Rich says in the opening of a promotional video about the listing. “I bought the house around the corner. You could probably throw a rock and hit my front door.”

Rich worked with agent Terry DeSelms and his team to create a marketing plan for the home and filmed the video and home tour a few weekends ago.

“It’s something we came up with together,” said marketing director Phillip Poynor. “John’s a creative guy.”

Poynor explained that the Terry DeSelms brokerage often “does things different” when the company sells a home.

“We always try to find an angle to help sell a house,” he said. “We knew we could definitely get the publicity and put it out there and John was in town long enough so we shot the video and put it together.”

Poynor says that Nashville is different in its approach to celebrities than Beverly Hills. The paparazzi rarely hounds stars in the Tennessee city.

“I even asked him [Rich] about this,” said Poynor. “He said I feel great — I’ll stop by and ask ’em for some sugar.”

Or, as he says in the video, “personally come over with a big ol’ bottle of champagne and I’ll pour you the first glass.”

“He’s serious,” laughs Poynor. “Knowing him, he’ll probably bring two bottles!”

The home is located in an older neighborhood in the outskirts of Nashville. Rich bought the home in 2005 for $539,156 while it was under construction and helped finish the home, picking out paint and custom cabinets. It’s currently listed for $579,975. Median Nashville home values are currently $133,000.

The brick home sits on 50 acres and has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms with 2,712 square feet of living space and features hardwood floors, Silestone counters in the custom kitchen and plenty of music history.

“Everybody from Jason Aldean, and Keith Urban, Wynonna Judd, Taylor Swift has even been here. They’ve all come down these steps, right where I’m standing and we’ve written big hit songs together,” Rich says in his video.
