Over the past few months there’s been quite a slew of professional athletes listing their homes for sale on the real estate market.
This time around five-time Pro Bowler DeMarcus Ware is looking to unload his pricey crib. The Dallas Cowboy linebacker’s home is listed on the Colleyville real estate market with a $2.198 million price tag.
Ware was drafted with the 11th overall pick in the 2005 by Dallas. Through his six seasons with the team, he has totaled 462 tackles and 95 sacks. In 2008 Ware opened the season with a sack in seven straight games, and with the three consecutive he had at the end of the 2007 season, tied Simon Fletcher for the longest streak in league history. The following season Ware became the highest-paid Cowboy ever, signing a six-year, $78 million contract extension, $40 million of which was guaranteed.
Built in 2008, the English-style mansion has 6-bedrooms, 7.5-bathrooms and 9,304 square feet of living space. Ware’s home is located in one of Dallas’ gated communities and features four living areas, numerous bonus rooms, a wine porch, seven fireplaces, a theater room and a chef’s kitchen. Situated on close to an acre of land, the home’s outdoor area features all the high-end amenities of a celebrity home, including a cushioned turf play area, ground level trampoline, private putting green, outdoor pavilion, and pool with a raised spa.
The listing is held by agent Gale Sloan of Century 21.
