Foreclosure Victims: From Home to Camper

Camper

Daily, we see stories in the news about people who are losing their homes to foreclosure. It’s true that we are in the midst of difficult, worrisome times in our economy with three-quarters of Americans believing we are in a recession. Unimaginable stories are emerging. Here’s one from CNN that is deeply sobering since it’s a family that lost its 2,700-square-foot home to foreclosure and they’re now living in a 28-foot camper.

I watched this video on CNN.com and found it disgusting that I was supposed to feel sympathy. It’s quite clear that the family took out a mortgage far more than they could afford. Additionally, like most people in this situation, they blame others for their fate. They didn’t understand the terms of the mortgage and clearly never asked for clarification of the terms. Ignorance is not an excuse when applied to understanding laws, so why is it an excuse when it concerns how one manages their money. I never got the impression that the woman even tried to find a new job or two to make sure they could make their payments. This video should be used to teach people what NOT to do to avoid this kind of situation.

I saw the video and was moved with compassion for this couple. The truth is anything that happens to one human being can happen to any one of us. It goes to show that in all things in life, always live with humility as nobody knows what toimorrow will bring. The couple may see themselves as failures, but the truth is billions of our brother and sisters would be happy to have their camper and to many it would be seen as a mansion. They have a roof over their head and each other, good health and I hope they have enough faith to belief that this moment in their lives will one day be a distant memory.

While I feel sorry for these people, the story tries to make them victims. Nobody made them sign those loan papers and I’m sick of everyone playing victims when their circumstances are results of poor personal choices.

Yeah !! Really we are sorry for those people…It is very much important to have the proper knowledge of foreclosure.
