Blue Collar Comedy veteran Dan Whitney, more popularly known by his stage name “Larry the Cable Guy,” is ready to ‘Git-R-Done’ with the sale of his longtime, 20-acre estate in Sanford, FL. It is now on the market with an asking price of $1,550,000.
Whitney first purchased the property in 2001 during a time commonly referred to as his “bachelor days.” Home values in the Sanford area, however, have since fallen, dropping 24.8% over the past year according to Zillow Real Estate Market Reports. While the housing market could be a speculative reason for Whitney’s decision to list his home, the Orlando Sentinel reports that Whitney and his family have outgrown the house and are ready to relocate somewhere that better suits his travel schedule.
Whitney turned this celebrity retreat into a customized, 3-building property unlike any other. The 6,000-sq ft main home consists of 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and perhaps the most impressive “man cave” currently on the market. The manly oasis includes a poker table, pool table, bar, big screen TV, video machine, bar signs and turf-like carpet as the finishing touch.
Apart from the main house are an array of diversions, including a workout facility, bonus area above the 3-car garage, and outdoor movie theater where anyone can catch a flick while relaxing by the fire pit. The outdoor entertainment area is also equipped with a full kitchen, bar and spectacular pool. The pool area features a sunning beach, waterfall, grotto and a pop-up TV that emerges from a rock (just in case the lavish media room or outdoor theater didn’t satisfy someone’s cinema needs).
Whether this home is seen as a relaxing escape from the outside world or a singleton’s playground, it is safe to say that America’s Cable Guy did “Git-R-Done” when he built this one.
