Looks like “Project Runway” host, Heidi Klum, and pop-artist hubby, Seal, are adding to their Los Angeles real estate portfolio this Christmas. The high-profile couple scooped up a 12,300-sq ft foreclosed property earlier this month.
The Mediterranean mansion is located in the prestigious gated community of Brentwood Country Estates. The property sits on 8.5-acres and includes 8 bedrooms, 9.5 bathrooms, a cigar room, domed library, wine room and a decadent outdoor entertaining area with a pool, spa, rolling lawns and Italian rose gardens. There are some rather unique details as well. Real Estalker mentions that the former owner not only imported a fireplace mantel from Scotland that dates back to 1603, but also purchased and shipped the entire formal dining room from the Paris Pierre Hotel and had it reassembled in the home. Last but not least, the library fireplace originated from Napoleon’s farmhouse in France.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the exquisite property first entered the market in October after failing to sell in a June auction. The original asking price was $13.4 million. While the selling price remains an undisclosed amount, Hilton & Hyland listing agent, Rebecca Ross, specifies that there was a bidding war for the property which resulted in the house selling for “significantly more than the asking price.” The Zillow Price History Chart mirrors Ross’s statement and shows the home sold for $14.2 million.
