Here’s the Skinny: New York’s Narrowest Home Sold

The skinniest home in New York City has just sold for a reported $2.175 million. According to Curbed NY, the home’s original listing price of $2.75 million was slashed to $2.499 million before it found a buyer who managed to bargain the price down another 13 percent.

The seller paid $1.6 million for the house after a bidding war in 2000.

The property at 75 1/2 Bedford St, New York, NY 10014 is 999 square feet and is only 9 1/2 feet wide. It was built in 1873. The Dutch-style home has three stories, plus a basement.

Located in Manhattan’s West Village, the home has housed such notables as Cary Grant and John Barrymore. Perhaps they left behind some of their custom furniture?
