House Where Bezos Created Amazon is Sold

By: Diane Tuman, Zillow Content Manager | November 10, 2009

TechFlash reporter Eric Engleman not only tracks what online retail giant Amazon does, but he’s also alert to the house where Amazon was “born.”

The Bellevue home, located at 10704 NE 28th St, Bellevue  WA 98004 was once rented by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and it’s in that home’s garage where Bezos created Amazon.

The house recently went on the market and was purchased by a T-Mobile engineer who will close on it this month. Was the T-Mobile engineer inspired to buy the house due to its historic past of Internet greatness? No — he actually had no idea of its interesting past until TechFlash informed him.

Funny anecodotes abound about the house that Bezos once occupied. Read Engleman’s post about the Bezos house and the oversized mailbox where an avalanche of catalogs would arrive. Good stuff.
