Investor Peter J. Solomon ‘Bewitched’ by Pink House

A recent real estate transaction in the Hamptons was nicely tied together by Hamptons Curbed.com that reported investment banker Peter J. Solomon purchased the “Pink House,” in East Hampton. Located at 42 Highway Behind the Pond Lane, East Hampton, NY, Solomon purchased it for an undisclosed sum, although the property was listed for sale for $22.5 million.

The property is “under contract” through Sotheby’s:

An East Hampton Village landmark, the Pink House is on 3.1 acres with sensational sweeping water views and 504 ft direct frontage on Hook Pond with dock. The original dairy barn of the historic Wiborg estate built 1903, the charming stucco house has 6 bedrooms, 5.5 baths. Private grounds with waterside pool, several outbuildings, old gardens and beautiful old trees. Close proximity to The Maidstone Club and the ocean beach. First offering in over 35 years.

As the NY Post reports, the Pink House is “…part of the Mary de Liagre estate and was once owned by actor Robert Montgomery, whose daughter Elizabeth later starred as Samantha on ‘Bewitched.’ ”

Solomon was formerly a vice chair of Lehman Brothers and a deputy mayor of economic policy and development under Ed Koch.
