Jane Fonda & Music Producer Beau Sell LA Home That Belonged to Ronald Reagan
We knew it as the home built in 1942 for Ronald Reagan and his first wife, actress Jane Wyman, when we wrote about the estate at 9137 Cordell Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90069 being listed for sale earlier this year for $10 million.
Well, courtesy of the Los Angeles Times, it appears that ownership of the home remained in the hands of Hollywood royalty. The Times reports that the 6,000-square-foot Hollywood Hills home was most recently owned by Jane Fonda’s partner, music producer Richard Perry.
Fonda has been dating Perry for several years and lived in his home, eschewing her downtown condo.
But it appears the couple wanted a new home together, so the Hollywood Hills home was listed in July.
The 5-bedroom, 7-bathroom home with 340-degree views of the Pacific Ocean and downtown Los Angeles sold on Sept. 28 for $8.5 million.
There’s no mention of Fonda’s new abode with her “honey” Perry, whose best work included album production with Carly Simon and Rod Stewart. However, Fonda did blog about moving back in August, saying she was watching the Olympics during trips to the car to carry in lamps. The blog post was entitled: “Moving Into a New House While Watching the Olympics.”
Here is what Fonda wrote about moving from the house that appears to have been owned by Perry for almost four decades:
“Preparing for this role has been going on amidst our moving into a new house. Moving is inevitably stressful, less so for me than for Richard. In the last 38 years, I have moved in a major way 10 times, Richard never! But he’s taken it pretty well. It’s a perfect house for us. A good 3rd Act house, is how I describe it. Instead of the twinkling southern view of all Los Angeles and the ocean, we look out to the west (and a tad north) over hills. It’s a serene view. I’ll send some photos soon. ”
As the L.A. Times mentions, Fonda, 74, is still in line for a new ABC comedy series and has a new movie, “The Butler,” in which she plays, get this, Nancy Reagan, due out next year.
