Though this has become trendy in the past two years, it is still a great way to turn a wall into a place for messages, grocery lists or musings. One dark wall is far less depressing than an entire room, especially when most of it is filled with chalk. If even one black wall is too much for you, there are numerous colors to choose from and you can even make your own chalkboard paint. How cool is that? Another option is to paint a small area, say a border or the inside of your kitchen cabinets.
