Mark Wahlberg Re-Lists Beverly Hills Home With $2 Million Price Cut
From Marky Mark to Golden Globe nominee, and executive producer of the HBO hit series Entourage and Boardwalk Empire, Mark Wahlberg is a man who needs no introduction. What the 40-year old actor and father of four does need, however, is a buyer for his 1.41-acre estate in Beverly Hills.
Described as a “magical hideaway,” Mark Wahlberg’s multi-building compound originally hit the Beverly Hills real estate market back in 2008 for $15.9 million. Taken off the market in 2009 when news hit the wire that Wahlberg and wife, model Rhea Durham, were having baby #4, “The Fighter” star is taking another shot at selling his home this year but at a significantly reduced price. The gated Mediterranean-style estate is currently listed for $13,995,000. While this is a hefty decrease from the first listing price, the price history shows Wahlberg purchased the property in 2001 for $5 million and, as Zillow previously reported, proceeded to remodeled the estate into Wahlberg-worthy grounds.
Wahlberg’s Beverly Hills home includes a master suite with his and her baths, four additional bedrooms, high ceilings, a chef’s kitchen, screening room, as well as dining and living rooms “fit for entertaining.” The compound also consists of a 2-bed, 2-bath guest house, detached 2,500-sq ft, 2-story gym with full size boxing ring, sports court (suited for basketball, tennis, or racquetball), a putting green, outdoor pool with waterfall, grotto and cabanas, and sweeping canyon views.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Wahlberg is looking to hand-off this massive property to focus on building a new 33,000-sq ft home in the nearby Beverly Park neighborhood of Beverly Hills.
Hillel Sanowicz of Keller Williams Realty is the listing agent.
Based on a 30-year fixed mortgage rate at a current rate of 3.956 percent and assuming a 20 percent down payment, the monthly mortgage payment for this home is $53,168 per month, as quoted on Zillow Mortgage Marketplace.
