Marshall Family Gets Extreme Home Makeover
By: Diane Tuman, Zillow Content Manager | October 16, 2009
On Sunday, we will get to see a deeply heartfelt Extreme Home Makeover for the Marshall Family of Lancaster, TX.
The reason it will be so moving is that Carlton Marshall, a Dallas police officer, was shot and seriously wounded as he led a SWAT team during an early morning drug bust in 2007. He spent nearly 9 months in the hospital for his wounds, including damage to his spinal cord, a stroke, meningitis, and loss of hearing. His wife, Susan, is an Irving homicide detective, so the turnout and pageantry from police forces is expected to be quite a sight.
The Marshalls’ old brick home (top photo), located at 1648 Hash Rd, Lancaster, TX 75146, was demolished to make way for a 4,000-square-foot wheelchair-accessible home complete with a custom-designed physical therapy center.
And, from getting a sneak peek at the entry way (photo left), it’s a beauty. There is also an interesting windmill device that was installed to generate electricity. Should be a fun episode to watch.
