Move That Bus!
By: Holly Honnen, PR Intern | October 5, 2007
This week, Extreme Makeover Home Edition came to our neck of the woods for the second time in three years. The Kirkland, WA house was “nearly 100 years old and filled with asbestos and lead” according to local ABC station, KOMO 4 News. I cannot imagine a mother who is more deserving of having a safe and sturdy house for her four children. And to top it off, the family is also receiving $6,000 for college tuition.
I wish I could have been there to witness the surprise first hand when the house was revealed yesterday morning, but this was my first week as the newest PR Intern at Zillow and I’ve been a little busy! I guess I’ll have to wait until this episode airs in January 2008. This video coverage has me on the edge of my seat in anticipation. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the Emmy-winning show has come to the Puget Sound region. In 2004 the show came to Kingston, WA and Spencer Rascoff, our CFO and VP of Marketing, was lucky enough to witness the building process.
Congratulations to the hundreds of volunteers who made this possible - I know we all look forward to seeing whose lives they can change next! (Photos courtesy of Seattle Post Intelligencer)
