Obama Family on Holiday in Hawaii

President-elect Barack Obama and his family are spending time over the holidays in Kailua, Hawaii, where homes in Kailua go for millions of dollars. According to this report by Good Morning America, the Obamas are renting three homes at the end of gorgeous Kailua Beach and sharing time there with close friends (the homes are located somewhere in the above map). Together, the homes are worth an estimated $30 million, are each 5,000 sq ft, and there are waterfalls and a lagoon pool running throughout. The Obama’s reportedly “smiled a lot” upon seeing their vacation digs.

Obama knows his way around Hawaii since he lived just on the other side of the mountains in Honolulu, with his grandparents.

No doubt the beat reporters and Secret Service agents that are assigned to cover Obama are glad to be in beautiful Hawaii, rather than President George W. Bush’s Crawford Ranch, clearing tumbleweed.
