With his Chicago condo still on the market for $2.65 million, Oprah’s favorite interior designer Nate Berkus purchased a new pad in Manhattan for $3.35 million, according to The New York Observer.

The talk show star hosts his daytime gig, “The Nate Berkus Show,” from New York and showed off his previous home, a New York loft, on an Oprah episode September 2010.

Berkus’ new Big Apple pad is a 3,000-square-foot duplex on the second-floor of a brownstone, just a few minutes away from 5th Avenue. The home was originally listed for sale at $3,695,000, but Berkus scooped up the piece of Greenwich Village real estate for thousands less.

The renovated 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home is a perfect blank slate for the celebrity designer. The first floor holds a living room, dining room and den each with its own fireplace and painted wood floors. The first floor also includes a renovated gourmet kitchen with walnut countertops and high-end Bosch appliances, as well as two home offices and a full and half bath, cleverly hidden by a set of built-ins in the den.

A flight of stairs leads to three bedrooms on the second floor, each with over 11-foot high ceilings. The master bath has a fireplace and large en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom includes access to a private terrace, while the third bedroom is currently configured as a private gym.

While undoubtedly luxurious, Berkus’ new place, pictured below,  isn’t quite up to designer standards quite yet. His Chicago Gold Coast apartment was featured in the September 2008 issue of Elle Decor.
