Cleaning Products to Provide Your Residents
When you rent out your property, you expect the residents to maintain it. This prevents future maintenance problems that both you and your residents have to deal with. One way you could encourage your residents to clean and maintain the property is by providing the tools they need to do so.
As a renter, I’ve always appreciated my landlord and property manager when I found cleaning products under my cabinet. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t find the entire cleaning aisle under there; I was given just enough products to get started and keep clean.
This practice is great for residents who just move in, and don’t have all their cleaning supplies yet. When cleaning supplies are provided, there’s less of an excuse for residents to not start cleaning from day one. Here are a few suggestions of what types of cleaning products to provide for your residents to help them maintain the property:
Garbage disposal cleaners
Food particles get stuck in parts of the garbage disposal and drain pipe, creating an environment for mold and bacteria to grow. This can create unwanted odors and spores. Ew. To avoid this, provide garbage disposal cleaners for your residents to use to keep the garbage disposal clean and fresh.
What’s great about multi-surface cleaners is that you could use it on nearly everything. This is great for when you need a quick cleaner or disinfectant to wipe up messes.
Comet or a scrubbing cleanser
Products like Comet are cheap to buy, and are a great solution for cleaning the bathroom and kitchen. Residents could use this for cleaning the tub, toilet, and sinks. It is scratch free, so you don’t have to worry about it damaging the surfaces.
Bleach is mostly known for making clothes bright and white, but it’s also a wonderful disinfectant that could be used around the house. It’s a great product to leave residents if you want to discourage mold or mildew growths in the bathroom or kitchen.
