Why You Should Send Your Office to Industry Conferences
Attending conferences is important in the multifamily space. There are lots of new ideas and products to learn about at these shows, and it’s never the same year after year. There are lots of benefits of attending industry conferences. Consider this: Rather than sending a few decision makers to these shows, send your whole team! Sending your entire office to attend can be a positive investment in your team and your business.
This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t send your office to every conference or event that uses the word “apartment” or “multifamily”. It’s a good idea to send them at least once per year. National or major local events are a good place to start.
Here are some reasons to send your entire office to industry events:
Conferences are a great way for a team to bond while still being in a work-related environment. Usually, office members stick together during the conference; they eat lunch or dinner, attend sessions, and visit vendors together. Usually teammates will exchange ideas freely because they’re in a more casual setting, so team members are more likely to come up with creative concepts.
Team members develop professionally.
When the people on your team attend sessions and talk to vendors, they’re given a chance to learn and develop their skills. Often times, there are inspirational speakers and educational sessions at conferences. Attending these sessions could inspire your office to implement what they’ve learned into the business.
Also, consider this: your staff is one of the greatest assets of your business. You want to invest in them. Encouraging them to better themselves as professionals will benefit your business on the whole.
Meet the vendors in-person.
It’s one thing to talk to vendors over the phone. However, meeting with vendors in-person is invaluable. You can create a more personal relationship with the companies you work with. Also, you’re able to get closer to the product and work one-on-one with the representatives. This is great for individuals in your office that are engaged with different vendors like advertisers or marketing software solutions.
