Real Estate Slogans
Real estate slogans.
Real estate tag lines.
Everyone wants a “catchy” real estate slogan, one that catches the eye and is memorable.
Consider these advertising slogans. I bet you know the brand almost immediately:
“Just Do It”
“The Ultimate Driving Machine”
“It just keeps going and going and going”
Did you come up with Nike, BMW and Energizer Batteries?
Of course you did, because these companies have been marketing and branding these slogans forever (or at least what seems like forever). They have practically become part of the pop culture lexicon. Who wouldn’t want their real estate slogan to be instantly recognizable the world over?
While world-domination of your real estate slogan may not be possible, there is no reason you can’t come up with a unique and memorable real estate slogan that helps deliver your brand message in your local market.
Five Tips for Creating Effective Real Estate Slogans
Highlight a benefit. The point of a slogan is to differentiate your product or brand from that of your competitors, while also underscoring your general mission. Slogans are the first impressions for many potential consumers, so it needs to stress the company’s worth. Isolate one key area of your business, and find a way to integrate it into the slogan.
Example: “Nobody in the World Sells More Real Estate than RE/MAX.” That’s a differentiator, something no one else can claim.
Alliteration is your friend. From Wikipedia: Alliteration is the repetition of the same sounds or of the same kinds of sounds at the beginning of words or in stressed syllables of an English language phrase. Alliteration, rhyming, meter — all make for a more memorable real estate slogan.
Example: My brokerage’s slogan was, “The Power of Technology with a Personal Touch.” The grammarians out there will tell you that isn’t true alliteration. It’s not, “Suzy sell sea shells by the sea shore,” but it has alliterative qualities and is at least somewhat memorable. It also captured the two most important qualities of our brokerage — technology and personal service.
Highlight your commitment. Winning slogans will explain a company’s dedication to its customers. Slogans devoted to customer service, especially ones that guarantee quality and satisfaction play extremely well with the public.
Example: “Constantly, relentlessly reinventing, and developing new solutions for our clients.” That’s a real estate slogan targeting the brokerages commitment to the client. It’s about them, not you.
Be honest. When writing a slogan, it’s extremely easy to get carried away. Don’t. The general public sees right through claims like “I’m a top producer!” and “Best agent in the metro area!” First, what exactly is a “top producer”? That means nothing to the consumer, and is more about you than them. “Best” agent? Best looking? Best negotiator? Best marketer? Be specific, and don’t make claims you can’t back up with data.
Brevity wins. Your real estate slogan needs to be short, and simple. That makes it easier to remember, and easier to use. “Slogans” that are two or three sentences long can’t be put on a business card, and will take up way too much space in marketing collateral. Brevity lends itself to memorability, which is the primary goal with real estate slogans, so limit them to a sentence or less.
Examples: “Where dreams come home” and “Smarter. Bolder. Faster.” Short and sweet. And memorable.
It’s not easy to develop and write an effective real estate slogan. It takes practice, and trial and error. Here are some examples (do NOT use these! They are already in use and are only provided to get you thinking.) Write a few slogans out on paper and share them with others. Ask them for their gut reaction. What is the first thing they immediately think of? Ask them 10 minutes later to repeat the slogan. If they can’t, go back to work. Take your time developing your real estate slogan or tag line as it’s going to be with you for a long time, helping you make your mark, and helping people remember who you are.
