Producer Antonio ‘L.A.’ Reid Lists Hamptons Estate for $18.9 Million
Following the wave of celebrity beach retreat/New York waterfront real estate upheaval, big-time music mogul Antonio ‘L.A.’ Reid has listed his 7,000-square-foot Sagaponack gated estate, resting on a very private 3 acres, for $18.9 million.
Property records confirm that Reid and his wife, Erica Reid, own the property. The Real Estalker reported that they purchased the estate in February 2006 for $10 million.
Built in 2004 and located at an undisclosed address in Sagaponack, NY, the famed producer’s mansion has 8 bedrooms and 9.5 bathrooms. Some of the home’s luxurious amenities include a 2-level master suite, gym, wine cellar and spa room.
Notable outdoor features of the estate include a heated salt water gunite pool, tennis court, private pond and lush landscaping. Of course, there is plenty of deck and porch space for entertaining guests, which Reid is known for. He reportedly threw his “Summer of Love” celeb-studded bash in 2008 at the home.
Reid is best-known for founding LaFace Records with Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds, and the duo produced 33 No. 1 singles and three Grammy-winning songs together. Reid was the CEO of Island Def Jam Records prior to signing on to be an “X Factor” judge. Currently, he is chairman and CEO of both Sony’s Epic Label Group and Hitco Music Publishing.
The home has been of public interest since the initial purchase. Hamptons Magazine shot a spread of Erica Reid featuring her at the home. Reid revealed that the home also sports a drum studio and meditation room. It’s not news that the Hamptons is a hot celeb spot. Jimmy Fallon owns a home in Sagaponack, and Jennifer Lopez recently bought a mansion in nearby Water Mill, NY.
The Real Estalker also reported that Reid put his swanky 5,000-square-foot Park Avenue apartment in NYC on the market for $18.9 million in May and has yet to sell.
The listing for this estate is held by Linda Haugevik of Sotheby’s International Realty.
