Real Estate 2.0 - Who are the Players?

By: Drew Meyers, Zillow Business Development Specialist | May 9, 2007

Re2 There is a fantastic overview of the players in Real Estate 2.0 over on the vFlyer Blog that highlights the companies that "matter most to real estate professionals." Among others, the companies mentioned include TurnHere, my-currency, Neighboroo, Hotpads, and Propsmart. We are humbled to have made the list in four categories; community, mapping, valuations, and wikis. Head on over and take a look!

Thanks, very nice info. For those of you in the real estate industry or those who are house hunting, have you heard of Bought & Sold on HGTV? It’s a show about the inner workings of the real estate business. It basically shows 12 different agents trying to show houses and close the deal. It gives you huge insight into the way homes are marketed and how price levels are decided upon in the Northern New Jersey market. You can check out a preview - http://web.hgtv.com/webhgtv/images/pac/59889/start_at_home.html?section=boughtsold,panel=videos - It’s on Sundays at 10PM e/p time on HGTV. I work with them so I have the inside scoop. Definitely highly recommended.

Interesting, it might be a good idea to do a Lunch 2.0 that is focused on Real Estate!!

    What do you think?

    Josh-
Think there are enough real estate companies in the Seattle area to do one locally?

FYI - I’ll try to make it to the seattle lunch 2.0. What’s the date?

Well, there are at least a lot of companies who may want to integrate with the real estate folks. There are a lot of mobile companies in the area, along with some shopping oriented companies. I think there are some good things that could be shared between folks at zillow and the techies in the other local companies.

The first one is coming together pretty quick for early June.

Along with some sponsors and attendees getting excited to get a couple more on the calendar before the end of summer. Keep your eye on my blog or the wiki, as soon as I have the first date setup I’ll be talking about it :)

    What’s up with Propsmart?

Look like they have been inactive for almost a year.

How come they are still considered a player?

maybe I’m just bitter that we are not a “player” :(
