As a talk and game show host for nearly five decades, there are few people who don’t recognize the name Regis Philbin. As a matter of fact, he has spent so much time on TV that Philbin holds the Guinness World Record for the most time spent in front of a television camera. What did come as a surprise to most, however, was his announcement earlier this year that he will be retiring from his morning talk show gig, “Live With Regis and Kelly,” after almost 25 years on the air.
While Regis is downsizing his professional life, it appears he is downsizing his real estate holdings as well. According to The Wall Street Journal, the 79-year-old star has listed one of his two homes in Greenwich, CT. The home currently on the market is a 6-acre, French Colonial-style home, which has been owned by Regis for over 20 years. He and his wife, Joy, made their second Greenwich real estate purchase about about three years ago, although most of their time is reportedly spent at their home in the Big Apple.
Regis Philbin’s’ Greenwich home hit the market in May for $4.195 million, but recently took a price cut to $3.8 million. As it turns out, the talk show host king has been trying to sell the mansion for about five years, first listing it in 2008 for $5.9 million. With no luck in finding a buyer, the Philbins rented out the property, but are giving the selling game another shot.
The gorgeous property includes 4 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, library with wet bar, two family rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, and gazebo.
