Britney Spears may be able to boast a handful of hits, and Katy Perry has several to her name. But the man with more hits than nearly any other artist is the writer behind songs for Spears, Perry and others.

Producer and songwriter Max Martin has sold more than 135 million singles, according to Nielsen SoundScan, “with more than 38 songs topping a million units.

The Real Estalker blog reports that Martin just bought a new home, and it’s only fitting that he’s moving into a property once home to another hit maker, Frank Sinatra. The West Hollywood triplex was also home to Marilyn Monroe in the 1960s.

Martin purchased the residence for $3.72 million, according to property records. The listing describes the home as a writer’s retreat or artist compound, making it ideal for Martin’s creative pursuits. According to Curbed, Martin plans to turn it into a professional recording studio rather than use it as his personal home.

A complete 1980s remodel by renowned designer Kalef Alaton connected the three units by patios and modernized the 1952 construction. Measuring 5,637 square feet in total, the home has 4 bedrooms and 6 baths.

The main house is the largest unit with 2 bedrooms and 5 fireplaces, as well as a large living room with a 100-foot-long glass wall opening to the patio. A studio over the garage contains a kitchenette, high ceilings, library and huge terrace. The third unit is a 1-bedroom, 1-bath space centered around an atrium.

Martin’s writing credits include the Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way,” Spears’ “Baby One More Time,” Perry’s “Teenage Dream” and Maroon 5’s “One More Night.”
