Earlier this week it was learned former NBA star Antoine Walker faces foreclosure and has filed for bankruptcy. Now another former NHL pro, ex-Detroit Red Wing great Sergei Fedorov, is facing foreclosure on two of his Bloomfield Hills homes, according to The Detroit News.

Fedorov’s Bloomfield Hills home on Huntington Lane is presently on the market for $999,900. Fedorov reportedly owes $1.2 million on the property; he purchased it in 1999 for $1.25 million, according to Zillow’s price history chart. The description on the home details page is a bit ominous:

DO NOT APPROACH HOUSE W/O CONSENT FROM LISTING AGENT. SALE SUBJECT TO SHORT SALE APPROVAL. ALL MEASUREMENTS APPROX. LISTING AGENT HAS KEY, PLEASE CLB FOR SHOWINGS. GATED ENTRY, PRIVATE YARD, FINISHED LL W/ GYM, SAUNA. GREAT LOCATION, SUPURB LOT.

Fedorov’s Bloomfield Hills home on Tiverton Road is not for sale at this time, but he reportedly owes $915,623. The Zestimate® home value is $916,000 at this writing.

Fedorov is allegedly in dispute with a law firm and financial adviser over the loss of $60 million.

What’s with these guys? Some people just don’t know how to manage their assets. Nice description on the home details page though. Nicely worded and it’s likely to entice a lot of buyers!?

I wonder if these celebrities are doing this on purpose or is it just that they are bad with money? I think that if you owed $915,623 on a property you would have been notified constantly about what you owe. I can’t say that I would have done the same in his situation.

They all do the same, I’d really like to see their bank statements just out of curiosity.

I guess the old saying is true: “The more money you earn, the more money you spend.” A lot of people don’t know how to manage their income and over-expend their bank accounts, leading to situations like this.

First he loses Anna K. to Enrique…and now this. Man, life is tough.

Dude, a house worth over a mil in Detroit…it must be like 50,000 square feet.

Losing over $60 million to one guy.

Wouldnt you find out at say…$10 mil or $15?

    Just curious.

I live about 55miles south of Detroit and my niece live about 35 miles west of Detroit. I’ve been to Bloomfield Hills many times and the closed community is nice, but going to and from this area is a combat zone. My brother’s ex-wife grew up about 5 miles from there and she would tell us about the gun fights and drive by shootings going on there. If Fedorov was stupid enough to pay that much for a house in aDetroit suburb, and didn’t watch his money (and he received plenty) then I have no pity for him.

There are plenty of million dollar homes in Bloomfield Hills and surrounding areas. the 20-30 miles between there and Detroit may as well be 1000 miles. There are no similarities between the two.
I live on Lake Angelus and we have many 1-2 million dollar homes on our lake.
Plus we have Pontiac schools..which are crap so we have to foot the bill for private schools on top of it. But it is a beautiful area! I wouldn’t trade it for any other area!!

People who spell the same person’s name two different ways in the same article has no business writing or posting anything in any medium. The best part is that the correct spelling, Fedorov, is used only once. Possibly a cut-paste job from someone who actually knows something.

Good catch, Dustin, or is it Larry? I went way too fast in putting this one together.
