Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne List Hidden Hills Home
Home decor tastes can change, as proven by the Osbournes’ switch from an exotic and eccentrically designed Beverly Hills home — Architectural Digest labeled it “Contemporary Goth“— to a simple and luxurious private estate filled with bright whites and French antiques.
The latter of the Osbournes’ design extremes — the Osbournes’ Hidden Hills home — was purchased in 2007 after the end of MTV’s reality show “The Osbournes” and has hit the Hidden Hills real estate market for $12,999,000.
According to property records, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne purchased the gated-community home for $12,388,500 after selling their Beverly Hills “goth” pad to Christina Aguilera in 2007. Coincidentally, Aquilera is now selling the home for $13.5 million.
While the Osbournes are best known for their role as a wacky reality family, Ozzy Osbourne first made headlines as a heavy metal rocker known for his bizarre stunts. Sharon Osbourne has managed much of his career and has carved out a role for herself as cancer spokeswoman, reality TV show judge and celebrity mom.
According to celebrity interior designer Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, Sharon can add interior designer to her resume as well.
“Sharon rules the roost when it comes to decor,” Lawrence-Bullard said in the the June 2011 issue of Architectural Digest. The home is “very them. Easygoing but still opulent—with a little rock-star edge thrown in.”
The June 2011 magazine spread features much of the Hidden Hills estate’s interior — including shots of the kitchen, which features Sharon’s collection of Americana vintage, as well as the multiple 19th century antiques.
Before Lawrence-Bullard got his hands on the Osbourne’s home, the edgy couple commissioned a huge remodel. Rather than expanding the home, they kept the 10,000-square foot living space but reduced the number of bedrooms from seven to three, adding an enormous walk-in closet and his-and-her baths to the master, as well as two home offices.
Situated on a knoll in Hidden Hills, the home has sweeping views of the L.A. skyline and hills beyond. The home also features an additional guest apartment with kitchenette, paneled study, foyer with spiral staircase and lower level media room.
Another Osbourne piece of real estate is their Malibu home which is currently available as a pricey $40,000 a month rental.
The Hidden Hills listing is held by agent Tomer Fridman of Ewing & Associates.
