Site Maintenance Planned for Tonight
By: Zillow Team, | April 23, 2009
Every once in a while, we make a big update to our databases, which requires us to take down the site until the update process is complete. Tonight is such a night. We’re sprucing up our database of cities, counties, boroughs and neighborhoods AND all the data we have that is related to one of these places (homes, profiles, advice…).
For weeks, we’ve been processing the data on our servers, but tonight at approximately 8 pm PST, we have to take Zillow down for an estimated 3 hours to finish the last part of the changes.
Sorry for the inconvenience. We will be back up as soon as the update is all done. Please check here for updates.
Or, for your entertainment pleasure, read up on celebrity real estate news.
See you later!

Couldn’t you do this from midnight to 3 am or something? Maybe something to consider in the future.
Take the fact that we’re bummed that you’re offline as a compliment

Hi Jen: Thanks for the compliment. To be honest, we are more apt to make mistakes in the time frame you suggest (human need for sleep and all that), so we chose a window of time that would reduce that possibility.

Fortunately, eppraisal.com will be up during that time, so I can keep working.

I am glad you are working on the site. Both homes I looked at are seriously out of date (3-5years) and one cites 2.5 baths and 621 sq ft. where the reality is 4.5 sq ft and 3700 sq ft. How far off can you be? Photos show trees that were cut down years ago.

Thanks for the heds up. I always find maintinence is best when schedualed for the early morning hours.

Why have the estimated home values not updated in over a week? Is this tied to the maintenance?

Hello, Ditto on the need for maintenance - glad to hear it was done; however, our area was not updated and has not been since then. We corrected the erroneous data on our house which would definitely have increased the value, but have seen no change?? Any more maintenance planned??? Thanks very much…
