Some of our favorite EZ Ads
By: Chloe Harford, Director, Strategic Planning | April 17, 2007
Since EZ Ads launched, hundreds of advertisers have purchased over a thousand individual adverts. These are just some of the first EZ Ads that caught my eye:
For tips and feedback from one of our early advertisers, check out Brian Brady’s post on the Bloodhound blog. We’d love to hear what other people think– what is working for you? What EZ Ads do you find most effective? Send feedback to ezfeedback@zillow.com or leave a comment below.
If you haven’t bought EZ Ads yet, here’s a quick overview:
- They’re Easy: You can create and customize your ad in just a few minutes. The content of your ad is up to you – you can include a headline, two lines of content, a phone number, email, link to a Web site, and an image (maybe a photo or your logo). Don’t be afraid to get creative!
- They’re Targeted: EZ Ads are targeted by ZIP codes; your ad will only be viewed by people who are looking at homes in your area. Also note that 86% of Zillow’s visitors are currently homeowners, and 54% plan to buy and/or sell in the next 24 months.
- They’re Affordable: And at a penny per ad view we think you’ll find EZ Ads affordable and economical
So, what are you waiting for? Just click here to create an EZ Ad.
If you’re not quite ready yet, here’s a video that you might find interesting — it stars Sam, who is an Engineer on the EZ Ads product. In the video, Sam walks through the steps to create an EZ Ad on Zillow.

I purchased 3000 ads. So far so good. I have two different ads currently running: 2000 with my contact info and a link to my homepage running for a month, and 1000 linking to my blog running for a week. My blog ad seems to be getting more interest.
One thing I noticed that bothers me is that a realtor in my office signed into zillow today, and on their page, my add for my services showed up. That impression does nothing for me.
I’m still very happy with the service, and will continue to use it.

Shaun-
Glad you are happy with the program so far. Any suggestions for future additions to EZAds will be greatly appreciated.

I’m still experimenting with my ads. My one gripe is that when I’m logged into zillow… I still get shown my own ads. You jerks owe me SEVEN CENTS!

The click-through is exactly what I thought it would be, 1%.
I made $500 from my EZ-Ads (about a $50 investment).
Here’s the challenge. BofA shut off my card because it suspected fraudulent usage ( 5 quick online buys in a row). Is there any way to add a “shopping cart” so we can buy them all with one charge.

Brian-
I have to apologize - we know this is a shortcoming of EZAds right now. Some sort of shopping cart to buy multiple EZAds at once is definitely a feature we will be adding later this year. Thanks for your patience.

Athol - thanks for experimenting with EZ Ads. We’ll take your feedback into consideration as we make improvements to the product. Let us know if you have other suggestions.
