Steven Hilton has managed his grandfather’s famous Hilton hotels and served as the the chairman, president and CEO of the legend’s Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. But if that’s not enough to keep him busy, Hilton has been trying to sell his Malibu home for the last four years.

Property records indicate he bought the home at 28222 Via Acero St, Malibu, CA 90265 in 2002, shelling out $1.625 million. Hilton first listed the place in May 2009 for $2.96 million, followed by a price cut of $160,000 in March 2010. But by September of that year, he had yet to find a buyer and removed the listing.

Fast forward to May 2013 and Hilton relisted the home with a lower price of $2.695 million. A pending sale in June almost ended the real estate saga, but the sale fell through and the home bounced back on the market two days later. Now, Hilton’s hoping the third time really is the charm.

The 4,430-square-foot home is situated among ancient oaks and a landscaped creek. The property spans 2 acres in Ramirez Canyon near coveted Paradise Cove.

Built in 2000, the 4-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom abode combines many architectural elements. The exterior provides the feel of a luxurious villa, with expansive terraces hoisted up by columns and a roof that appears to be stucco. A stone waterfall encompasses a spa and cascades into a pool, encased by a sun-drenched patio.

The interior boasts soaring wood ceilings and matching hardwood floors. Combined with crisp, white walls and massive panels of glass, the home emanates a warm, California glow. The home theater marches to the tune of this theme, with wood-lined gold walls and tan leather chairs.

A gourmet kitchen includes a wood island and cabinets along with a stainless steel range hood and stove. Meanwhile, a rose and vegetable garden in the backyard provide ingredients for beautifully filled vases and fresh, home-cooked meals.

The lower level of the home features an office with scenic views and a piano. It’s a place where Hilton presumably spends much of his time on his widely-recognized philanthropic work.
