About 13 miles outside of Chattanooga, TN, up on Signal Mountain, is a unique piece of real estate called the “Space House.” According to the Chattanoogan.com, the Space House was sold in an auction back in March, or, rather, it was allegedly sold for $135,000, but the winning bidder defaulted, so the Space House never changed hands and was never sold.
Well, it’s up for auction again on Dec. 14 and will be handled by the Crye-Leike Auctions team. The current owner of the Space House purchased the property in 2007 for $165,000 (according to our records) and owns it free and clear, but wants to relocate to Florida due to health issues.
Built in 1970, the 2,000 sq ft Space House is said to have fabulous views of the Tennessee River and surrounding Signal Mountain. Made of cement and steel, the Space House rests on cement pillars — like landing gear — and is one full story off the ground. It has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, kitchen, living room and large open bar/entertainment area.

That is definitely a unique house. If it’s updated with green technology it will probably sell faster to a TREKKIE or someone of that ilk…hey I like all this outter space, hmmm

The interior must seem really weird with so many rounded walls and/or pie shaped rooms.

Our Crye-Leike Auction Team from Cleveland, TN is hoping for a great turn-out of interested bidders/buyers. We’ve sent the news of the auction to news media outlets worldwide - TV talk shows to the New York Times - and newspapers from Japan to Australia.
