The Bachelor Hails From Kirkland, WA

The women of Zillow PR are proud to announce that our home boy, Jason Mesnick, is the star of season’s “The Bachelor,” a reality dating show on ABC. The handsome single dad lives in Kirkland, WA, just across Lake Washington from the Zillow offices in Seattle, WA. A graduate of the University of Washington and proud Washingtonian, he will eventually take his girlfriend(s) home to Kirkland for a hometown date and introduction to his 3-year old son, Ty.
All the single ladies in Seattle are wild for Jason. In fact, the Heathman Hotel in Kirkland is satisfying the public’s obsession with Jason with a $1,200/night promotion package. For $100/person, 12 diehard fans can host a private viewing party at the Heathman Hotel and watch the Bachelor in style. Hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, red roses and sparkling wine, voting ballots and the latest issues of US Weekly and People will be provided. Jason, however, will not make an appearance.
The whole hotel room rental thing is a bit extreme for my taste, but I will certainly be tuning in tonight to watch Jason schmooze with a room full of available (read: desperate) ladies. How could I not? This reality TV entertainment is prime water cooler fodder and I’d hate to be left out.
The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.

As someone who lives in Kirkland, I see this as a fun and energizing event. Hey, it never hurts to have fun things happening in our neck of the woods. We had an Extreme Makeover home at the end of 2007 and that was also a fun event.
The Seattle Times announced in today’s newspaper that they will be doing follow-up articles during the time of the show.

Hopefully he’ll meet a hot Cougar! Can you smell the double entendre?
