Weekend Time - Have You Downloaded Your Zillow iPhone App Yet

It used to mean that getting ready for the weekend meant lining up your Friday night plans, making a restaurant reservation, and teeing up Sunday brunch with friends (or in my case, confirming a play date for my kids).

But the Zillow iPhone App, now 2 days old, changes all that. The new Friday ritual around the watercooler: make sure you’ve downloaded the Zillow on your phone.

In Day 2, another 9,279 people downloaded the application. Through midnight last night (48 hours post-launch), 24,945 people now have the app on their iPhone or itouch and already they’re using it like crazy. In fact, about 8% of Zillow’s total searches are already being conducted on iPhones, and it has only been available for two days. The Zillow app is already the #2 free Lifestyle app (look out Zippo lighter app, we’re closing fast!) and the #1 Real Estate app listed in the itunes store.

The app has received fantastic reviews in the itunes store, from websites like mashable and Macworld, and newspapers like the Seattle Times (”amazing”) and The Washington Post (”a lot of fun”, “cool”).

But my favorite measure of the app’s popularity is to see what individual people are saying on their blogs and on twitter. @robluhrs from Washington DC wrote “Walking to get a muffin for b-fast was changed completely with the zillow iphone app.. it’s completely addictive!” @terrylwhite from Michigan wrote that he has “chosen his iPhone App of the Week: Zillow - it’s really cool!” and @AtlWlf in Marietta GA simply exclaimed “Zillow on the iPhone!!!”

This weekend should be particularly fun, as tens of thousands of people around the country walk around their neighborhood with a brand new perspective. Are you and your iphone ready for the weekend?
