Zillow Ad Network reaches 63 million real estate consumers

Many of you are aware of the Zillow Newspaper Consortium, our partnership with 282 newspapers nationwide that we announced last November.  In the first phase of this important partnership, local classified advertisers were given an opportunity to expand the reach of their ads to also include Zillow’s audience.   This program has been very successful– well over half of the local advertisers are saying yes to the offer to extend their ads to also appear on Zillow.

We are excited to announce another big step in this advertising partnership with today’s launch of the Zillow Advertising Network– the largest online advertising opportunity available for reaching consumers focused on home-related commerce. The new advertising network combines the audiences of Zillow and the newspapers’ Web sites, creating a unique opportunity to reach as many as 63 million consumers who own homes, are shopping for homes, or are looking to dive into a home remodeling project. 

Zillow’s advertising sales team and the the vast local sales teams of the Zillow Newspaper Consortium members are now able to sell premium advertising inventory on each others’ sites. This gives major brand national advertisers a large scale audience reach opportunity through Zillow, while also enabling local advertisers to better and more broadly target their ads.

For example, a San Francisco furniture retailer can simultaneously target local and national audiences of consumers searching for San Francisco homes on Zillow, as well as the local online readers of  Bay Area papers such as the San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News and the Contra Costa Times. A national real estate brokerage could choose to have their ads seen by Zillow’s targeted monthly audience of 5 and a half million homeowners, buyers and sellers, as well as the readership of hundreds of local papers in local markets they want to reach.
