Zillow Blog is Now on Wordpress

By: Zillow Team, | June 29, 2007

We have just switched this blog to the wordpress platform, primarily to give us further flexibility to quickly add plug-ins and features to the blog. The biggest change you’ll notice is that we know have a 3 column lay-out to give us more room to add sidebar content.

We realize some of the images within individual posts aren’t working quite right due to some redirects that we need to take care of. Please leave a comment and let us know if you are seeing anything else out of the ordinary (and, if known, also mention the browser version you use).

Thanks for your patience! Please bear with us while we work out the kinks…

Congratulations on seeing the light and making the switch to WordPress! I suspect you’ll be very glad in the long run that you did.

    Congrats on the Wordpress migration!

What was it running off of before?

  7. Drew Meyers on July 2, 2007 9:42 am

    Erik-
It used to be on Typepad.

Drew — Looks great — and it works just fine in FireFox — In IE6 the right side column slips down so it starts at the same level as the content in the center column ends — IE6 is a real pain like that. :-(

  9. Drew Meyers on July 2, 2007 1:25 pm

    CJ-
I don’t suppose you have any idea how to fix that do you?

  10. Jay Thompson on July 2, 2007 6:38 pm

    Upgrade to IE7? :)
Better yet, just throw all of IE away….

Sorry, wish I could help. I can say that *sometimes* large images in the center column will cause this…

IE 6 should now be working - Thanks to some custom work Brian Gardner (the designer of this theme) did.

Ok, I know this is lame, but I’m using an MSN browser w/IE6 and I have to scroll back and forth to see the whole screen. I’m viewing either one half or the other. My other complaint is I’ve disappeared (along with everyone else, I guess) off the front page. What, not even a link under “industry blogs”? Where’s the love?

  13. Drew Meyers on July 5, 2007 3:28 pm

Sorry Marlow - I didn’t purposefully remove it when migrating this blog to wordpress — I just added 360 Digest back to the blogroll.

Is Zillow going out of business?

Wasn’t this site the same one that has been reported and written about in various national publications, including the WSJ about their FREE ZEstimator Home Value Report?

    Gary & marc g -

We’re working on it. Please check this blog posts updates: http://www.zillowblog.com/technical-difficulties/2007/07/
