I think teachers go an extra mile to make sure that students do better in academics. The administrative staff is nice also. My son had a lot of help in every way possible. A big thanks to all of them for doing such a good job!

I absolutely LOVE Pioneer! The teachers and staff are amazing. They really care about the students as evident in the curriculum set forth. If you want a great education for your child Pioneer Elementary is the best place to receive it. I am grateful for Pioneer!

This school is awsome. My daughter learned to read quick. Her math skills advanced as well. A very friendly safe environment.

Our 1st grader is having a great time after almost a full year. Word of mouth had us steer clear of certain teachers but that will be any school. Heard good things about the new principal but time will tell. Residency requirements should be looked into further as class size and demographics seems out of proportion to the area. The new after school "Reach" program is working out great. For such a big school wish there were more rating from parents on this site.

This school has great teachers but I don't think is well staffed. I think they should have more bilingual/bicultural teachers. The last principle was not an approcheable person. Let's hope the new principle will be better

This school rates high in my opinion. The teachers go the extra mile. The staff is well trained and professional. The students learn more than academics they learn to be responsible citizens.

I have lived here for 6 years. My oldest daughter attended Pioneer for 5 years and is a very smart and confident middle school child now. My son is going into third grade and he is not as academically adept. The teachers caught his low performance and have given him so much support. Everything from reading programs during school tutoring after school testing his strengths and weaknesses-all free. The teachers and administrators are respectful to me during all of this process and my son still loves school but he says it is hard-I say 'that's a good thing.'

I am pleased about Pioneer School . This is only possible with excellent Principal leadership and parent involvement .I have spent a lot of time Europe and Pioneer is on par with some of better schools I have seen . The only draw back I have noticed is the large class sizes. One of the better schools in Bolingbrook by far.

In a recent Chicago Magazine article titled 'The A+ Team' Pioneer Elementary School was listed among the top 115 schools in the region and one of the top ten in Will County. The magazine considered statistical data including average class sizes expenditure per student and standardized test scores to compile their rankings. The schools were then grouped by county and the city of Chicago. The Chicago Tribune has twice cited Valley View Schools in recent years for student achievement. In 2004 Independence Elementary School was named as one of the top ten elementary schools in Illinois for narrowing the achievement gap between white and non-white students as measured by ISAT scores. The same designation was conferred by the Tribune in 2003 for Pioneer Elementary School.

We lived in the area for some time but moved to the Pioneer district before the start of 3rd grade for my daughter. It was the best moved we ever made. From the principal Mrs. Haley the teachers and staff of the after school care program - we could not have had a better experience. I had the pleasure of meeting with Mrs. Haley during an end of the school year meeting she then explained the school philosophy and what expects her staff to pas on to the children. From that meetin I could see not only the mutual respect within the staff but also the pride that carried throughtout the school and into the children. The children truly got the best learning experience possible. 'Thanks Pioneer you are the BEST!' I only wish that we would have started with you from Kindergarten.

My daughter is now leaving Pioneer School with mixed emotions. The school has supported her for the last 5 years and helped her to grow in confidence and knowledge. She has made a large number of friends with great character and has learned to set a good example and be a good leader. The staff from Mrs. Haley the nurse the P.E. teacher all teacher's the After Care Program staff and the cleaning crew.. have been wonderful simply wonderful role model's and caring people! While she will miss Pioneer she has been prepared that education is about learning growing and moving forward. So while she has shead some tears of sorrow she also is quite prepared and greatly looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead of her. She is prepared and will do will academically and she is socially and emotionally awaiting the challenge eagarly! Thank you Pioneer!

This school is great! After moving here from another states school system it was a breath of fresh air to come to Pioneer! Ms. Hayley made us feel welcomed from the start. The teachers are incredible the front office staff are so helpful and kind (which to me is important a great indicater of the attitude of the school and of the principal)and the classrooms encourage the children to do their personal best and to be encouraging to their classmates. Challenged students are also integrated in the classrooms which is great because students are taught to be helpful and understanding of childrens challenges and abilities. To see the children interact with each other is a blessing. We are so happy to have our children in this school with the teachers that they had this past year. It made our move to a new state so much easier. Thank You Pioneer!

This is a wonderful school! The principal and teachers are dedicated professionals who care about our children. We have loved the after school care program as well as the many extra enrichment opportunities that have been made available to our child!! We have also been very pleased to see ISAT test scores which meet/beat those of DuPage Co. schools.
