Gateway/End-of-Course (GT/EOC)

In 2011-2012 Tennessee used the Gateway/End-of-Course (EOC) exams to test high school students in language arts, math, science and social studies upon completion of relevant courses. This year they introduced two new exams in algebra II and English III. Students must pass the algebra I, English II and biology I tests, called the Gateway exams, in order to graduate. The Gateway/EOC exams are standards-based tests that measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined by the state of Tennessee. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

As students of BCHS we have had the privillege of being introduced to 'Real Life Experiences'. Attending Central has gave us the opportunity to explore and accomplish our goals as young adults. We have enjoyed the many classes offered and the hands on atmosphere. The outstanding staff is well educated and determined to help students.

I am a freshman at Cental High School in Bolivar TN. I have enjoyed every minute of everyday that I have attended. I attended BCH from 10 - 12 and found it to have many opportunities. The staff was knowledgeable and well educated. There are many vocational classes. There are also special classes for advanced and for the educationally challenged. They have an excellent sports program the Tiger basketball team just won the state championship. Bolivar is clean and well equipped yet still retains the small town character. It is a fine place to raise a family and I really liked this school.
