We just moved to the area and love Bonaire Elementary! I am very impressed with the teachers and staff.

My son has been to Bonaire for 2 years and I am very disappointed. a He started school in 1st grade at a very advanced level and has fallen back because he has not been challenged. They put all their focus on the AR program and ignore other subjects. My son reads on 6th grade level entering 3rd grade but all of the AR work is done from home. Students are req'd to complete X number of AR tests per week but teachers often don't budget time for them to actually take the tests. My son has not been in a single program nor on a single field trip in 2 years but tells me the "focus" students go on field trips all the time. Tests scores are not really valid because I've been told 2 years in a row that my son who "deserves" the highest rating can't get one until the end of the year because the teachers "have to show improvement" on paper. What does that say to kids? Students who work extra hard can't get the highest mark (3s) so they get the same grade as kids who don't work hard and don't pay attention. I could go on for days on why I don't like Bonaire Elementary but there are not enough characters remaining to do so on this site. We are looking for a new school immediately.

My son went to Bonaire Elementary last year and is now at the middle school. Our experience with the school has been excellent amongst the teachers and staff. In 3rd grade he needed some reading help and has been doing excellent since! He also was involved in choir and percussion ensemble there and has had a lot of fun. He is now in the 6th grade beginning band and loves it!

My son is in 5th grade at Bonaire Elementary. He hated school until he started in 4th grade at Bonaire Elementary. He has been on an individualized learning program since he was 3. He was reading at a kindergarten level when he started 4th grade at Bonaire. He is currently reading at a 4.5 grade level. The teachers and staff really care about the kids learning and well being.

I am a mom to a 1st grader at Bonaire Elem. I love this school. We moved here for FL and my son was accepted with open arms and his teacher has been FANTASTIC! I can not find one thing wrong with this school. If you are looking for a school for your child this is it! My son has made some great friends. We are looking forward to the future at Bonaire Elementary.

I agree that the principal and teachers are friendly. Overall the basic academy education is very good. The concern that I have is that homework is very limited and there are no projects or emphasis on extra curricular activities. If you want just a foundation and reading and math this is a great school. If you are looking for a well rounded education you will not find it here.

My children also went here. I read the reviews and this is what I mean when I say that this district is behind in their thinking about what works. First you do not use taking away recess as a punishment. Many children who cannot sit still focus fall behind on their work or respond inappropriately to other students or teachers if anything need recess to expel some of that energy and to practice social skills as well as resolve social issues. Recess is the practice ground where this is able to happen. If the school was really with it they would discuss clarify different approaches to better behavior then allow the student to practice them. They also have a habit of announcing this recess punishment in front of all students. The focus needs to be on change not detracted by methods that do not work.

Wonderful school and happy to be a Wildcat! When anyone enters the school everyone greets you with a hello and a warm smile. The principal support staff and teachers are always striving for each child to be their best!! This is the place to be to get superb education!

I have two children that attend Bonaire Elementary (one entering 4th and one entering K). Bonaire is one of the highest ranked elementary schools in the entire state. The entire staff is outstanding. My wife and couldnt be more pleased with the teachers we have worked with. Our children love it and their grades and CRCT results show. If you are relocating to WR with young kids find a house in this schools district.

This school has been good for both of my children as they are taught by involved teachers. There is one oddity that several of us parents wonder about. The kids are punished for misbehavior by losing recess. I'm not an educator but I am a mom and busy distracted children might find walking around the playing field all recess to be more of a torture and the kids could expend their energy somewhere other than the classroom. The administration here is very tight and they are sincerely concerned about the welfare of each child.

BES is an outstanding school!! I have never experienced a principal as awesome as Mr. Payne. From our first visit to the school he made us feel welcome and my child was NOT a number but he was a welcome member of the Wildcat family. Mr. Payne knows each child by name current teacher and how they are doing. He takes the time not just to listen to the kids but to understand them. His wonderful leadership is evident in the staff who surrounds him....they are very friendly and always willing to help. Mrs. Arnett and Mrs. Nicely in the front office are always on top of things and greet every visitor with a smile. The FOCUS program is wonderful and has offered my son a great opportunity to reach new levels of learning. We are going to miss BES as my son moves on to middle school. Thanks BES!!

I can honestly say that my learning was increased greatly as I spent a few years learning there.

My 2nd & 5th graders started BES fall 2006. My son with an IEP was met with full support. His writting skills went from unreadable to neat and complete sentences thanks to Mrs. B. Mrs. J his special education teacher is very proactive. The teachers make learning exciting with reading counts and rewards bringing in bugs for class examination and humor. It's a great enviroment for my children.

Bonaire Elementary is Wonderful! Home of the Wildcats. I have two daughters that attend school at BES. Mr. Payne & his Staff are wonderful loving people. The office staff stays on top of things and is there to answer any questions. Parents are involved and go out of their way to help make this school the best. Thanks Bonaire Elementary for all you do. Go Wildcats!

Wonderful teachers and staff. My daughter just finished 1st grade and already reads above a 3rd grade level.

My son attended Bonaire Elementary from Pre-K through the end of his first grade year. The staff overall is very friendly and concerned about their students. Mr. Payne the principal was a God fearing man who was nothing but kind. He took the time to get to know his students on a first name basis and that meant a lot. I will always remember Bonaire Elementary. Shereka Nottingham

My child went to bes for 3 years and loved it. The teachers are wonderful and very helpful. The principal is the best. He knows every childs' name and knows how well they are doing in class. They have a great parent volunteer program with a lot of parent involvement. Lots of clubs for the kids to participate in. Academically i think it is the best in the county.

Great school with wonderful teachers. They made entering the school in the middle of the year. Very involved parents.

Bonaire Elementary is the best! Mr. Payne is an exceptional principal and Ms. Busbee is terrific. They work together and make these kids feel loved. The teachers that my kids have had are terrific they take the time to teach the children and make sure the kids know they really do care aobut them and their education.

My daughter transferred to Bonaire from Linwood last year in the middle of second grade. Mr. Payne the Principal was awesome. He walked her to her knew class joked with her and the other kids. He seems to love what he does. The kids love him too. Her teacher was great she made my daughter feel very comfortable (my daughter is very shy). This year she has an incredible teacher (Mrs. Busuttil). Before we moved to Bonaire my daughter didn't like school. Her old school was very boring too easy she wasn't challenged at all. Now she loves school and she is receiving an exceptional education. I am very pleased with Bonaire. The only bad thing is the pick-up process. It is very crowded and they definitly need to improve the security of the pick-up process.
