As a past student at BSE I just love it. I love it know that I am a High school student and get to come back and work with students about character/responsibility. The Teachers/ Staff are great. <3

Bonner Springs Elementary School (BSE) is a one of a kind school. The leadership at the school is top-notch. The principal Mrs. Mitchell leads her staff with such a supportive demeanor and gives effective feedback in order to help her teaching staff in any way. Teachers love teaching at BSE and it shows! The teachers at BSE are invested in each and every one of their students and go to great lengths so that every child finds success right where they are. I have had two children go to BSE one is now in middle school and the other is a current Fourth grader. As a parent I can see great consistency in this building as far as administration goes and throughout the staff. Children need consistency and high expectations and BSE provides that on a daily basis. I always feel that the school collectively does a great job at communicating with parents at all times. It is always nice to walk through the building and feel the sense of community thoroughout. BSE is a great school family to be a part of and I am so glad that both of my children have had the opportunity to get their elementary education at BSE!

BSE is the place to be! I have had nothing but great experience with my children attending there! The staff is kind compassionate and want nothing but the BEST for their students! It is very evident that the teachers are very underpaid for their time and dedication they put into teaching their students each day!

As a parent of a BSE alumnus I can say that this school is a great place for learning. The administration & staff are all about what is best for the students. They are constantly working to improve both school academics and to develop a culture of caring respect & responsibility. I would send my child here all over again!

BSE is awesome school!!!! The school has a caring and nurturing atmosphere for students of any academic level. BSE is a place where students dreams are launched. Teachers staff and parent volunteers work together so that regardless of income or test scores each child is given the opportunity to learn and reach beyond their potential . Our school has character and has been striving to enhance learning through top notch pe music art and media programs that offer opportunities for students to broaden their horizons outside the confines test prep. There is nothing common about our core. If you want a school you can feel confident in and your child treated with compassion yet challenge to be the best or better than can be then BSE is the place to be. I am have two students at BSE and a graduate of Bonner Springs HighSchool and feel that USD 204 is a great place for education and our Communities are great places to live and raise a family.

I've been teaching for over 20 years and absolutely love our staff parents and students at BSE! To me one of the most important aspects of our school is we all care about each other. Each student is important. Each family member and staff member is important. We take time to support one another both emotionally and physically. I've noticed my colleagues take an interest in children and their families by donating their personal time and money to help a child succeed. I often notice our students looking out for one another particularly caring for our students with special needs. This warms my heart and it's no surprise BSE students continue that tradition when they enter Clark Middle School. I've heard many CMS teachers mention they notice students from BSE showing great compassion and responsibility. Our students shine and I'm so proud to be a part of a building that takes time to help students and staff present themselves as productive members of society.

The principal and staff are completely committed to student success. They do a wonderful job with meeting the variety of student needs and creating a positive environment. Bullying and other social problems are unheard of at this school. Unfortunately parent involvement is lackluster. The PTO is run by a committed few. Although the test scores for this school are not great my kids have continued to score high on MAP assessments so I know that they are learning.

We moved there last year at the beginning of the school year and the entire school welcomed my children with open arms. Unfortunately we had to move again and their new school was nothing like BSE so much that I have now pulled them out to homeschool them. I wish ALL schools were like BSE. They put the students' well-being first and were truly dedicated.

We love the Bonner Springs Elementary school. Not everything is perfect but where do you find that? We have one child with ADHD & ODD and he has had wonderful teachers and the Vice Principal Mrs. Mitchell has been right there when we've had problems. Our other child is one who wants to please everyone and does wonderful. I have been around the staff quite often through volunteering and I am very pleased overall with how well they do. The kids are important to them.

BSE provided amazing learning opportunities for both of my boys. My youngest has autism and was included in every aspect of his school. He was a student first who just happened to learn differently. He had access to ALL the available activities his general education peers participated in. He is now a middle school student. BSE educators with the support of the special education team prepared my son to step into middle school. His autism is very significant behaviorially and his is academically well below his peers yet he is a student who was valued for his strengths and gifts. His brother went from needing LD services and reading on a 1st grade level in 3rd grade to now reading on the 10th grade level in the 8th grade and receiving gifted services. As a military family we have experience many schools BSE is the best and we would highly recommend.

This school is great if you have a 'normal' chid. My daughter attended BSE all through her elementary years and all was well. My son on the other hand is Autistic and this school does not seem willing to or capable of funding the programs needed to deal with our situation. The answer that we are getting from BSE is to bus our child to an inner city school to be put in with children older than himself. In my opinion if you have a child with special needs move to Johnson County where they have the funding for needed programs and the committment to ALL children
